Go drop-shooting. Search youtube for best ways to tie the hook. and play it with small tap-tap-stop. Find the right color and you'll get addicted. I trowed away all my jigs and crankbaits, still keep some spinners. Best colors depends on the water you're fishing, but for smallies try white with black specks, yellow, dual color yellow/green or yellow/white, gray with blue specs. For Largemouth try blue, pink with yellow tail, black with blue specs, water melon, baby bass. your hook up rate will more than double if you do it all right.

Oh no, now your gonna need a separate box or bag for all your rubbers & plastics! (It's all good.)

Crankbaits catch LOTS of fish and big ones too. You don't think so? Try a 5.11 Largie May 13, and a 10 even Largie in May of '94, same lake, different part of the lake. Last year Aug. 25th a 6.87 Largie with a crankbait in a different lake. Doesn't make any different what lake, every lake has Bass that'll eat crankbaits. And jigs will catch HUGE Bass. NEVER even THINK of throwing those lures away, otherwise just that many more fish for me and others who fish jigs and crankbaits. :-)

There are so many ways to fish a crankbait if they aren't biting you need to mix it up, even think up a totaly different way to fish them.

Drop shot also catches big bass, it all depends on where, what plastic and how you present it... after all, it has been a winner tactic in several tournaments before it was revealed to general public. You just have to do some adjustments depending on the water. Same with Alabama rig, straight out of the box it don't work very well... adjust it and it works magic. It's just that I'm addicted to plastics. I tried Alabama for a while, figured it out, but went back to plastics. If you know your plastics well, it's an year round bait, even in the dead of winter you can catch bass with it. And big ones (got a 7 pound LM early February at lake Washington close to Mercer island about 4 years ago).
