Large trout are an irresistible temptation to a fishing addict, so here I am again. Arrived at the lake early, but the crowds were already there :( No worry, there is plenty of room for everyone. After trolling a bugger for an hour or so, I paddled over to Nunnally where a nearly impassable gauntlet of chironimid fisherpeople were stacked into the East end (some even had dogs sitting on their tubes). Two fish later I decided to head back into serene Merry where one fisherman was pounding trout with a leach pattern.

I was convinced that I could get my chironimid to work in my favorite spot, so I set up shop and made my presentation. The wait was not long, and I proceeded to land several bows, one big enough to be mistaken for a steelhead. About mid-day the bottom sludge began breaking up and floating to the surface, making it difficult to keep my bug free of green slime. Be patient and you will be rewarded.
