Used Downriggers 54 Ft Flasher spinner worms and maggots landed 3 Nice fat Cutthroat and aprox 4 Nice KOKANEE and had to throw em back had sea lice and slimmy were fun to catch Im sure some were SOKEYE there were BIG!! All around the bouy and the point mid lake! Warning for fisherman mann skiers andDrag boats early afternoon thsi lake popular for that! We were happy also an occasional perch in mid lake? Thiose are large Kokanee with a fresh water type of parasite called Copapods. Too early for Sammamish Sockeye.

I'll vouch for that assessment. Samammish doesn't have any mysis shrimp to compete for food with the kokanee in the lake and they can get quite large.

Thank You !! Appreciate Your Response!! Ya I did think something wrong with those fish maybe like they looked beat up and slimy and now that I think of a kinda rash Ill take some pictures next time Im on that Lake hate thrown big fish like that back but they were a lil dciey lookn! thanks for telling me what the deal on em is!! Appreciate that! THANK YOU!! Ya they were very good sized!! over 18 plus inches made my cutthroat 16 and 18 inchers look tiny and thin!! What is a COPAPODS PARASITE does it affect all fish or just KOKANEE!! TY

The ones in that you are seeing on the fish in Sammamish and Lake Washington are commonly called gill louse/lice. They seem to really hit the kokanee hard and you will see a few on the trout as well. The kokes/sockeye in Lake Washington get them so bad, I suspect that they may be partially to blame for the poor returns we have been experiencing.
