6/17/2013 8:33:00 PMI was thinking about you this past week, when I read about Quinault being closed to non-native folks. Well, I had wondered about what Wynoochie lake was like. Thx. for sharing. Any idea if or when Quinault will open again? I read a statement from the tribe stating that there was concern about preservation of the resource, i.e. maybe something about runoff from some properties or some kind of contamination that they felt has been occurring?

6/17/2013 10:09:00 PMThe reality of the issue with the lake is NOT related to water quality or any about caring about the lake and its resources, it is a way to "get even"with local non-tribal people who live and work around the lake, and the people who use the lake for recreation.Their plan is evidently to bankrupt an already struggling economy around the lake. The tribe has had issues with local high school athletic programs who have basically kicked the Taholah high school team in basketball out of their league for unsports-men-like behavior at games(ie; threatening officials with violence, foul lanquage, use of players that have been deemed non-eligible by officials from the league), kicked out of baseball program for repeatedly not showing up for games, with Other teams showing up and league having to pay referees regardless. The local school students at Lake Quinalt have 6 years of water quality tests that show NO fecal contamination throughout the whole watershed. This move only makes them look rediculous as "stewarts " of the lake, I certainly wouldn't make garbage like this up to cover up my true mean intentions, kind of makes them look even worse. Have NO idea when this crap will end, just found out about the baseball thing the other day from another disgruntled non- native parent.Bob R
