Had a reasonably successful day up at Silver on Saturday. Made it out on the lake by about 2:30pm. Started trolling to begin with off the north shore boat launch. Three poles in the water. I was using a red Bolo gang with a matching single hook wedding ring, and not two minutes on the water had the first fish in the boat. Nothing to get excited about but was worth keeping. Trolled for a little while longer with no results and switched to still fishing. Gobbed the power bait on the hook and floated it off the bottom. Can't remember the last time I seriously fished with power bait but we gave it a shot. Got a few bites here and there, and my buddy landed two nice sized keepers. Switched back to trolling and tried some different trout lures and ended up with some bright flatfish. I caught one more, and my buddy caught another two along the north western shore, and by about 5:00pm the bite seemed to be over. We fished until about 7:30 (broken rods and twisted line got the best of us I guess), with a total of 6 to the boat, 3 kept, 3 Little ones released, 2 good ones lost, and quite a few bites.
First time I have ever fished Silver on a boat, and has been years since I fished it at all.

I fish Silver Lake weekly with great success both on power bait or trolling a light green woolly bugger tied with a krystal flash dubbed body. This year I've yet to limit out, switching to the fly and trolling near the bottom has been working very well.

Best of luck

Don
