Haven't been able to wet a line for a couple of weeks... been a bit busy this Spring. Finally able to get back onto Green Lake this AM... friend Pete had scouted it out during the week and said it could be good... boy, was he right on!! Met Pete a bit after 5:00 Am, lines in the water by 5:20. Another fisherman already stationed nearby. Weather was a balmy 54 degrees at the start, overcast, slight breeze that varied from south to north throughout the morning. Water temp at the shoreline (3'), was 70 degrees. Began with Power Eggs (me), Pete with Power Bait. At about 6:00, had a hit and reeled in a beautiful 12" Rainbow. Every fish caught today really put up a great fight, all the way to the shore. About 6:30, it was Pete's turn... Landed another beautiful Rainbow... these fish are in terrific shape... gorgeous silver and pink-sided with blue-green backs. About 7:00 Pete had another fish on, only to have it snap the hook off at the shore, before we could get it in the net. A bit later Pete indicated that he had a bite... I was watching his pole on the left, he was watching the pole on the right... pole on the left doubled over and he quickly ran to it and reeled in another great fish... pole on the right was forgotten... later, as he reeled it in to check on the bait, he discovered that he had caught a 10" Rock Bass... on chartreuse Power Eggs!!! Action was non-stop all morning, missed several bites, but Pete had his limit by 8:45... I had four, needed one more. We relaxed a bit... I ate a wonderful salad that Pete had prepared for me, we ate sandwiches and chatted... a little before 10:00 I reeled in my fifth and we headed for home.
All fish were in prime condition and very feisty... ran from 11 1/2" to almost 13". Saw other fishermen (and women) with varying degrees of success... some left frustrated with nothing, others doing quite well, as we did. Pink Power Eggs or Bait seemed to be the best, although fish were caught on a variety of colors. Garlic scent seemed to help as well.
All in all, a great morning spent at the lake with a good friend and great memories. PTL!
P.S. In first pic, can you locate the Sculpin?

As usual, you never let me down!! Glad you finally got out, well worth it with the results, sw side of the lake?

NE1... Actually, too much shell racing staging at the SW side, so we went to the north end, near the "T" dock. Fish seem to have spread out in the lake now! Hope you can get out soon, fishing will doubtless fall off as temps continue to rise during the Summer. Hope to meet you one of these days! PTL!
