This report covers both Saturday and Sunday. Pulled a 2 person limit of 6 kokanee and 4 rainbows out on Saturday 6/1 and a 3 person limit of 9 kokanee and 6 rainbows out on Sunday 6/2. All fish hovered around 11” with some slightly bigger and smaller. The kokanee were higher quality for their size then the stocker bows, the kokanee had some good weight/girth, there were a few exceptions but the bows were mainly on the skinny side. Perhaps they haven’t figured out how to feed naturally yet and fatten up? Who knows, still fun to catch them and they’ll make good trout candy. DN dodgers and red wedding rings/silver blades caught all the fish when trolling. Worm on a hook took ~4-5 rainbows while we were looking for perch, which we struggled to find over the weekend. The style of DN dodger didn’t seem to matter as much as the red beaded wedding ring/silver blade. Fish were caught from 10’-30’ feet down on the wire with ~20-~25’ being the most consistent. Weather was great on Saturday all day and finally shaped up in the afternoon on Sunday. Fished from 7:30ish to 2:30ish Saturday and 10ish to 4ish on Sunday.
If downriggeral and hewesfisher read this, just want to say thanks to you guys. Back in December you guys gave me tips on how to create a flavorful brine for rainbow trout and they worked great when I tried it! I was about to stop retaining the stocker bows because frankly I thought they tasted like garbage and so there was no point. Tried out your tips and man it created sweet tasting smoked trout candy! Almost a sweet/spicy, teriyaki glazed smoked fish. I was shocked how good it tasted! I was convinced there was no use for those stockers. They were a hit with family and friends! So stockers will keep going in the cooler, thanks again!

While I don't normally read reports for west side lakes, I happened to do so this morning. Glad to hear the brine tips were worthwhile. Great report too! :-)

Hi jd39 You're welcome! Nice kokes and glad you liked the brine to make those rainbows into something edible.
