This report is for three days of fishing. I read several reports on this site as well as others that Silver Lake in South Everett has some nice size Trout. I arrived to the lake around 5:40 on Saturday 5/25 at the high Dock. It was a beautiful morning the sun was starting to shine through the clouds and onto the water. Fish were jumping and dancing like crazy. Before I even got my line wet I saw a huge (18-20in) jump and tail walk 30 yards or so out. I only had limited time on Saturday to fish and ended up pulling out 2 on chartreuse power eggs fishing from the bottom and 1 on a bobber and worm. I ended leaving with those 3 by 9am. I did watch an older fisherman pull out a fat hog of a fish that day.
Sunday was a little different it was slightly windy and raining but as it turned out it was my day, I got to the lake about 5:10 on the doc with line in the water by 5:20, first cast fish it the power egg before the weight even hit bottom, lost it as it jumped out of the water. Lost one more then by around 6:30 another fisherman showed up and asked how I was doing, at that same moment I got a hit. and brought in another fish. I had caught 3 fish by 8am and was starting to get tired and the bit had slowed down tremendously so I was thinking about leaving but decided to reposition my line for another 20 or so minutes. Once again as soon my bait hit the water the fish hit it. This time it was a real fighter, it took two nice runs and gave a good tug on its end. after a few minutes and help from a fellow fisherman who netted it for me (I was on the high dock). I went home happy.
Sunday the weather was a bit better... not so much sun but very calm glass like water. I fished from 5:20 to 8:30 and brought in another 3 12-15 inchers..
I ended up with 10 fish total over 3 days 9 of them between 12-16 inches and one that was 19.5 and 1.8 pounds. I barbequed one filet and Smoked the rest...So if you ask Yes I had a good weekend.

Sweet fishing, how do you manage to bring those fish up from the high dock? Whereabouts do you park around there? I'm aware of the area south of the lake where the small businesses are, gotta be somewhere closer,...again, props!!

Thank you N E 1, I did get help with netting the large one, there was about a 3-4 foot space where the fish was only holding on by its hook before the net could reach it. It is not easy to bring in a fish from the high dock but the small ones you can just pull right up on to the dock if they are not spazing out too bad. I did see a father and son team work it where the father walked the fish down the dock toward the shore and the son was waiting with a net to get the fish... (Good system if you have a partner willing to run down there for you every time you catch a fish). I like the high dock because you can get your hook out farther into the lake. Without a boat its hard to get to where those big trout are. I usually park on 116th st. se. Normally I am heading northbound on highway 527 and then turn right onto 116th st se where the first property on the right has an abandon house. I park right on the street in front of that house then cross the street and your at the dock. Not hard at all. Good luck!
