Well I worked a 14 hour day on friday and had a very long with with no real time on the lake for any prep time for the derby. I launched my boat at 330 talked to Rseas and other Wa Lakers at the launch. I found my lights didnt work any more not sure what I did there they worked a month ago. Got some much appreciated help form Rseas with my FF as we have the same one. Some how I got it set to demo mode. I took a co worker out for his first time fishing for Koks and he had a blast. I started with many colors had luck on home tied flys and mini squids in pink. Fished from 50 ft and up stacked 2 rods per down rigger havent done that in a while and it was a soup sandwich for a bit. I also bought a shuttle hawk and liked how it works. Purple seemed to be the color for me tried many colors of dodgers and the purple pink dick nite one worked the best as did the pink splatter. My bait was corn and maggots. We had tangles and one fish brought in all 4 rods once. I loosened the drag on the rod with the shuttle hawk to send it down got to running other rods and forgot to tighten the drag and lost a real nice sized fish. I had also lost my stern light we hooked a fish and I set it on the gunnel to bump it in the water shortly after. All in all it was a fun day on the water we boated about 5-6 fish and I got to stop by the co workers store today to hear how much fun he had and that he needs to get a boat and set it up for kokanee fishing. I also explained how many more lakes there were full of them. Even more so after he and his family ate the tasty fish that night. It was great meeting other WA lakers at this wonderful event thanks for those who put it on. I cant wait to do it again and see others on the water. Tight lines.

Hate it when stuff falls off the gunnel. Guess we need to design a boat with gunnels stuff can't fall off of? I have a sign I get to wear when I do stuff like that...seems to always cost money. Glad you had a great time in spite of the ...er challenges. Kokanee are a blast and oh so good to eat.

I can agree with that "downriggeral". @ Steelheadin360 yes it was nice to visit and I would have to agree that would be fun. Maybe have some Wa lake promo stuff as prizes. @Fear no fish yes 10-18" I will also add a smiley blade, or spinner blade and other things to give some different action. Sure cant wait to get at it again.
