Had a chance to go into work late today, so i headed out to Bitter at 0600. Overcast, slight wind. Threw both 5" Senko, watermelon w/speckles, Wacky rigged. Also through a lot of a white spinner bait. i am enjoying getting into the spinner baits this year. Never really used them before, but when the lillies are still imature like now... you can drag the spinner bait right through pretty easily.
The "Bunker" did not produce any hits. It was a good day overall though. Had two dink largies to hand, a pound a piece. The highlight was two good size largies. The one I got a visual on was at least 3lb. Mouth the size of an orange. He hit the Senko in shallow water about 3' depth. I have been concentrating on pitching baits into these little coves that in certain areas. I'm talking about really small coves only the size of a car basicly. it just looks all weedy and "Fishy" lol.. Hooked up with the larger fish there.
The other large fish wish never showed me herself, came froml my throwing the white spinner bait....WAY DEEP into the lilly pads, but again only about 3' of water. It's been a long time since I'd hooked into a big fish 50-60 yards into the vegetation. i was concerned about her wrapping line around lillies, etc. Anyway... I muscled the fish out of the vegetation, and once it was free off all that, it came un-done. Disappointing, this one was again a larger bass for this lake. But it reaffirmed why I like braided line so well.
So a couple of nice fish, and a couple of dinks, and a handful of hits.
Tomorrow am before work, it's Off to Haller. I am working 2-3 blks from Haller now, and couldn't be happier with the pre-work fishing opportunities!
Oh... and the single resident White koi/Carp, etc. is alive and well this year Bitter. I almost had underwater GoPro footage, but he spooked.
