My fishing partner(wife) and I launched at Connally Park about 10:00am and headed to the west end of the lake, we have done very well in these shallow waters in past years for walleye. We started out in about 8ft of water using bottom walkers and double whammys. As we trolled toward the east the water gets a little deeper.About noon we were in about 11ft of water and BAM, a nice 13" perch. Ten minutes later two more nice perch but mine shook off at the boat. We just started eating lunch when my wifes pole bent about double. After about a ten minute fight she boated a 28" 7#4oz male walleye. What a fish!!! We finished our lunch and continued trolling,in the next hour we picked up a couple 16"ers and lost a few about that size. The big guy was in 14' of water, everything else was about 10-11'.They were having boat races at the park Sat. or we would have been back out there.
