Fished the west end of Riffe on Sunday 7/8/01 from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm and brought approx 15 fish to the boat. We kept 8 fish between the 2 of us with most of them going 12" - 17". Picked up a few in the morning trolling. My partner was using the standard Pop Gear tipped with worm and shrimp. I was using a Sling Blade with a Koke-A-Nut rigging tipped with shrimp and worm also. It seemed like it was the shrimp the fish wanted more than the worm. Anyone not familiar with the Sling Blade or Koke-A-Nut, need to add them to their tackle box!!! They are just now starting to catch the attention of anglers up here in Washington. I first found out about them approx 2 years ago when I was a Sales Rep for Shasta Tackle who is the manufacture of them. I do not know of any stores in the local area that carries them but I am sure if you visit their web site @ http://www.shastatackle.com
a person can find out how to get them. Another great product they offer that is working really great at Offutt Lake right now is the Humdinger and the Cripplure. I am sure both of these lures would do really good at Riffe right now also.
We started fishing as soon as we launched at the old road bed at Mossyrock Park and fished our way to the Mossyrock Dam area where we caught most of the fish. I will tell you that the larger fish were caught deep! At least 40ft down or farther.
