Just moved to the area a few months ago, and been itchin to check out the local lakes. Hit up Horseshoe this morning hoping for a not-very-crowded opening day. Had the whole lake to ourselves all morning, just me, wife and 2 of my boys. This is a very beautiful lake...with a very primitve launch suitable only for small hand launched craft. Got on the water about 8am and checked out the lily pads to the left of the launch. Marked quite a few small fish between 20-42 feet, nothing big. The wind was terrible and just kept getting worse. Had some luck trolling, nothing fancy but got a few worth eating. Finally had to leave since we were literally being blown off of the lake. Will likely check this out again on a calmer day. Not a terrible start to the season, the scenery alone was worth it. Probably would have rated higher if not for the dang wind.
