Started off the day with a trip to Cottage Lake this morning, man it was comedy hour there! Rods breaking, tangled lines, and there were barely any spots too. I fished in a tiny slot left buy a guy who left the dock with no fish. I casted a random chrome lure I bought at a garage sale. On about the 20th cast, Bam! Nice hit, but unfortunately there was not enough space to set the hook so i didn't get it. So after about 45 minutes of casting and waiting in to cast, I left with my hands empty. Me and my dad decided to try a new lake this time, so we drove to Flowing Lake, because we heard they planted it recently. I arrived at the boat launch dock and immediately started casting a small 1/6 Oz. Thomas Buoyant Spoon in nickel and polka dots. No action what so ever on that. Seeing that a guy fishing there limited out on power eggs off the bottom, I tied on a similar rig. On the first cast hooked a nice 12" Rainbow. Every cast after that me and my dad hooked into a stocker trout. We limited out in 3 hours. I know, kinda slow for stockers right? We only left with 9 fish though because my dad lost one as he was taking them off the stringer.
