Fished from 11-3ish with pretty consisent action. My landing ratio for Meridian kokanee continues to be poor, went 2 for 7, had 3 other good bites too. Released both kokes as they were small, would keep 10"ers to help thin the herd in this lake but don't think these were even that. Still cool to land a couple and get the first kokes of the year. Marked a lot more suspended fish today especially toward the far end of the lake away from the launch but was only runnung top lines. Lots of surface action too, fish everywhere it seemed. Fished dodgers, wedding rings and corn.

We're you running double hook rigs/double whammy's?

jd..man those kokes can be slippery little devils! I like double #4 hooks with the back hook tied within 1/4" of the front hook bend. They must be sharp enough to stick in your thumbnail. Soft E-Glass rods and even snubbers will help but alas some will still give you the slip! Practice, practice, practice; I think that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Sure love to catch though. AH

Hi gfakkema, I was, mostly 2 #6 gami's (some have #6 Matsuos on them).

Hi downriggeral, was thinking of adding a snubber when on Meridian, haven't had this issue with kokes elsewhere, mouths seem really really soft on Meridian for some reason. My landing ratio on Angle is more in the ~70% range. Will be hitting American soon for kokes hope to report the landing ratio there is better! I use lami koke rods, those things are noodlely, even the small kokes I landed bent them over pretty good. They are fun to catch, will keep at it! I'm addicted to seeing that rod twitch and bend over with a hook up, need my fix again already!

I love to use my Kokanee rod to catch big rainbows. I think the biggest was over 6# really puts the "yank" on it!!
