Had some free time after dinner, so I snuck off to Greenlake for a little fishing. I went to the amphitheater area, and found it pretty crowded with anglers and the rowing team. It appeared that the people who were fishing off the big T dock were fishing sideways, facing the dock where the WDFW puts in the planters. Maybe there had been a plant that day? At any rate, it seemed like a losing proposition with all the boat activity right there, so I soon moved on down the shoreline to the West. Didn't have any luck until almost sunset when the bugs and sparrows were coming out. Had tried powerbait, kastmasters and spinners, but it was finally the chartreuse powerbait that did the trick. It was in relatively shallow water, maybe 75 feet out. It was a little 11 inch planter, but it did make a pretty jump after I set the hook. That was it, but it was enough to send me home happy and whistling.
