Got on the ice at 8:15 or so and started drilling holes. After setup we thought it would be funny to call one of the neighbors and order breakfast. We promptly got the expected answer plus a few cuss words. The fish started hitting about a half an hour later. After Mike got one on his Batman pole, Rick hooked into the second biggest fish of the day. When I saw how big he was I stuck my hands in the hole and grabbed him right as the line broke. Whew. Then the phone rang and guess what, breakfast was ready. After getting stuffed we all sat down and were quiet again and what do you know the fish started hitting again. We stuck it out until 3:30 then called a day with 8. The ice was 8 - 10 inches thick and at the end of the day we were standing in 2 inches of slush. Hopefully in a couple weeks I can get the boat out.
