So it was the first time I have ever fished the west side of the state and I gotta say it sucked ..lol
The inlaws are camped at a rv park on lake goodwin so I thought I would drop a line the water at the rv park is shallow is hell but had the look of being promising . Boy was I wrong not a bite a nibble anything I fished from the dock for about 5 hours and managed to catch a buzz . I will be returning this summer and hope to actually catch a fish or two so if anyone has tips or hints for me i would appreciate it . thankz yall !
keep ya linez tight

Lots of good fishing on the West side... but I wouldn't call Goodwin much of a producer. Not far from there you can find Lake Cavanaugh for some pretty good Kokanee fishing when the water warms up.

The rv park isnt the best place to fish goodwin... in fact goodwin isnt really a good place to catch number of fish. Gissberg ponds has been throwing out a few big hold over trout. Martha lake has been a producer. I have been getting a few in lake stevens as well. if you really wanna kill um wait until the plant most of the lakes in march/april.

Goodwin is great place to fish if you have a boat, great bass fishing at the right times of year and many days were I've caught as many trout as I could stand to catch. I don't know how the bank fishing is but trolling is great. South end of the lake usually produces the best for trout.

If you are fishing at the resort with the little store on it across the street from the tavern I suggest packing up and heading to the tavern. Too shallow in front of that place. Try the Wenberg park down by the picinic shelters and cast out far to reach the dropoff. Actually just west of the store by a few miles is Lk Martha..much better fishing from the little boat launch area they got there. Cast or power bait. Have fun
