Fourth of July just keeps producing. Location makes all the difference. We spent the first hour drowning worms and freezing powerbait. Then we moved a little farther down the lake a little farther out from shore, found the right depth and used the wriggliest worms and Shazam! We limited out in the next hour. It was a beautiful day with a great friend and just the right combination of adventure and challenge to keep us coming back for more.

The ice was a solid 6" thick and only had about an inch or two of snow on it.

Probably out there catching BIG fish. He didn't respond when I sent out the "Lets's go fishing!" text.

I've been waiting for a report like this from Fourth of July Lake! Was there a lot of people there on Sunday morning (when you fished), and was the entire lake frozen over with 4+ inches of ice (as far as you could see)?

Mr. Dluders, I hope to see your report up soon. The lake is frozen as far as I could see. There were a total of 5 vehicles in the lot and at least one was there for bird hunting. We saw 7 people total on the ice. Lots of activity in the narrows. We drilled 6 holes and the ice was at least 6 inches thick at every hole. Never felt uneasy about the thickness.
