I am new to fishing for cut-throat trout and new to the site. I bought a used boat this last spring and I had a pretty successful spring and summer on Lake Sammamish. I use downriggers and the usual suspects, ie wedding rings etc. Needed to cycle my motors after they have been idle for a few months since the coho run ended, so I headed out to Lake Sammamish to try my luck. Marked a lot of fish anywhere from 25 ft to 65 feet. I tried to go as slow as possible and tipped my gear with night crawler but got no takers. I do not know if this lake fishes differently in winter vs spring/summer or if the bite was off. Saw one boat land two drop shotting and one other boat land two fish on downriggers. I tried dick nite dodgers, sling blades, wedding rings, and power bait. I fished mostly the south end of the lake up to the yellow weather buoy. Maybe I should of gone to the north end where I fished a lot this summer.
