However, now that I am here can you tell me where the launches are open on Long Lake during the winter? Will be visiting Spokane during the Christmas holiday and would like to go after crappie if we get time. In the 80's Long had fantastic fishing for big perch and crappie and then it kind of died. Looks like it is back and now there are even smallies which were planted after I left the area.

You can launch at the Riverside State Park launch. It's in the Spokanr river upstream of where the Little Spokane river runs in. Also, Willow Bay launch is open. $7+ Discover Pass at the river launch, $15 at Willow Bay.

12/17/2012 8:48:00 AMScotti509 - We did have luck once again with the crappies and big perch, I just haven't posted my report yet. The bite was hot for about an hour and half then it died. When we saw you we were just checking another spot that can be good in the spring, never had a bite there. We headed to the suncrest boat launch and called it a day.
