Couldn't resist hitting Clear Lake one more time while it was open. Headed to the lake with my son after work and went straight to the northeast cliffs area. Trolled 3 polls tonight. 25' Downrigger with a watermelon Apex. Nothing on that one all night. Kokanee flashers with a chrome/red wedding ring w/chrome spinner and a 1/2oz weight. Nothing on that one either. The 3rd rig was a Kokanee flasher, chrome/orange wedding ring with a florescent orange spinner and a 1/2 oz weight above the flashers. Caught all 4 on that rod with 5 or 6 missed hits. I couldn't find anything else in my tackle box like it it. It was raining the entire time and we left after it was too dark to see the rods anymore. Now I have enough trout fillets to fill the smoker again. Good times!

Have you tried for any Walleye at that Lake?

No, I haven't. I had no idea there were Walleye in there until DaveF posted that monster pic the other day. Perhaps next year I'll find where they live and give it a shot.

Nice fat bows Aaron. Smoked trout is great stuff. Wanted to get there one more time but my boat is in the shop getting a full top built. Sure will be nice to turn on the heat and keep fishing this winter!

I sonar'd some big fish in that lake at 60-80' but couldn't make them bite; will have to keep experimenting next year when the lake opens again.
