A friend from Wenatchee came over fo rthe weekend and we hit Lake Tapps this morning. It is the last day fo rthe Pierce County North Park to be open.

Fishing was pretty good. We caught about 25 fish all on soft plastics. I am attaching a photo of a largemough weighing 3.5 lbs caught on a drop shot. While I was fighting it there was a follower that was considerably larger. My buddy threw back and hooked a big fish and the fish wrapped him up and finally broke off. It may have been the follower. We caught multiple Smallmouth in the same area and all had at least one follower and sometimes more. Most Smallies were in the 1 to 2 lb range and all caught on the drop shot.

Good job! Wife and I were out there and caught, maybe, 1/2 that. But, in my defense, I do not know this lake and have only fished it twice, now. Beautiful day, no doubt. We did get a duck to swim in my livewell. That must count for something:)

Largemouth = go around the island, go left, go right go in circles. Works for me. Used to be mostly Largemouth in Tapps, now the smallmouth have ruined it. Not to mention the muskies. :-)
