Fished from shore for a few hours by the amphitheater, starting about 45 minutes before sunset. Met Bryne Chum there. Caught one small largemouth, and plenty of sculpin. Starting at sunset the rock bass started biting. Caught a couple of those, and then the bite seemed to die once it got completely dark. It was a pretty evening. Not too chilly, and no wind at all.
Sculpin may be annoying, ugly, and not much fun to catch, but their sheer tenacity cracks me up every time. I don't know how many sculpin I've caught that weren't even hooked, but clinging fast to the bait, bound and determined to win the tug of war.
