8/17/2012 2:47:00 PMYou too, Rocky. They were about 10-11". The tails aren't quite touching the zero line. The parasites were twin tailed, looking like the bottom half of an X chromosome. Crappie tend not to get parasites in most waters I've been in. In water where sunfish are loaded with worms the crappie are just fine, visually at least. My wife said I should have put it out of its misery. She was right, but I resuscitated it without thinking. I'm sure it is dead by now. Poor thing tried to commit suicide, but I thwarted it.

8/18/2012 9:25:00 PMTrout are supposed to be a cool-water fish. No idea what the water temps were, but I've been skeptical about some of the bodies of water the WDFW puts trout in (in Eastern WA, anyways). Not sure if it contributes to fish weakness and parasites, but it seems at least plausible.
