Went out this morning. Got a slightly late start. Got on the water at about 8:15AM.
I didn't go very far this time. Picked a spot on the eastern shore. Didn't even make it halfway up the lake today.

1st hour, I was shooting blanks. No bass in sight. Caught a few perch, didn't see that many today actually. Also caught a small squawfish. I continue on and found some over hanging brush. Toss my little lure under it and tick tick. Finally caught me a bass. A little 8" SMB, lol.

Continue along and the wind is starting to pick up coming from the north.

Keep going along the shoreline and I find what appears to be an old dock pilings. Big group of them. About 4 rows. Has to hold something. 1st cast through it and get a perch. 2nd cast and I get a solid bite. I see it's a SMB with a 2nd bass chasing it. 15" @ 1lb 11oz. I tried cranking and jig through the pilings for more fish but that was it. I have to remember this spot next time.

I see another fisherman about 100 yards way from me. He must have been going along with the wind, since I didn't hear or see him pull up. I'm wondering if it's AMX, lol. Highly doubt it, since it was almost 11AM.

Anyways, I cast along the dropoff edge of a small shallow flat area and get another solid bite. It jumps up and I see it's a decent SMB. In the net it goes. 16.5" @ 2lb 3oz. I saw it puking up it's food. I can't tell what kind of fish they are, but my lure is almost the same size and color of it. Talk about matching the hatch. Woot.

Caught a couple of perch and small SMB. Then lost my 1st crankbait of the year on a dock. Couldnt get to it. FFFFUUU. Relatively new lure and I've only caught 1 fish on it. So definately didnt get my monies worth.
