Back to Tapps. Was on the lake at 6:15 and quit at 11:00. Fishing was alittle slower than last time out, but did catch 14, with one 2-11 and a 3-2. Both pictured. Use a nosed hooked curly tailed grub and a drop shot in around 18 plus feet of water.

By the way, if anyone fishing out on the ridge across from the North Park boat launch broke off a fish with a dropshot rig, with a no.4 hook, 3/16th oz dropshot sinker and very light line, it was hanging from the mouth of the 3-2 I caught. Anyway, the hook and sinker were removed and the fish returned to the water much happier, I'm sure.

Drop shot mystery solved. What a coincidence! One of my fishing buddies, Ron Hobbs, called me last night to give me a fishing report on his trip to Lake Tapps the day before I went out. In the conversation he said he broke off a big fish he never got to see out on the ridge across from the boat launch. That got my attention. So I asked him what size hook he was using...No. 4...check...Sinker? 3/16th oz snap on...check. Line? 4 lb test....It was very light line so, check and double check. I caught the fish he had broken off the day before. And when he had called, my fishing report hadn't been posted yet. And on top of that, Ron is one of those rare characters who doesn't even own a computer. Crazy!

I'm thinking about giving Tapps a try tomorrow for the first time. Are there any boat launches that don't charge a fee?

Sorry. Only two public launches. North Park is the cheapest. $15 unless your 62 or older, then its $5.
