8/8/2012 8:33:00 PMThat's the route I took. So I paid $60 to get my rod swapped out. I hope this one lasts. I only had this rod for about 2 months.

Got on the water at about 8. I started off near the swimming area at the park with a crank.
I had numerous nibbles and such, but didn't connect.
After about an hour, decide to leave this area.
Now throwing a soft swimbait, I get my first fish. A squawfish. Oh well, fish is a fish. Was only about 11-12".
Moved to a different spot and changing lures. Caught another squawfish!
This one was about 12".
Keep fishing and I get a solid bite. I'm thinking finally, a bass!!! Felt the head shakes and strong pull. But after like 3 seconds, it gave up. I'm thinking on noes... not again. It's another squawfish! But this was a big one. About 18-20". At least I'm catching something, I guess.
It's obvious I have to do something different. I decided I'll try out my new jerkbaits. I haven't tried them yet. I got a goldish colored one and it looks very similar to squawfish. Maybe the bass will eat them. Cast it out and feel a bite. Just a small perch.
I keep working along the docks and get a hard hit off the end of the dock. This thing is pulling my drag and bull dogging me downwards. I get it up for a glance and see it's a big smallmouth bass. I see it's barely hooked on the rear hook. Keep playing for a bit and in the net it goes! This thing was a strong fighter. But it's weight was lacking.. 18.5" at 2lb 15oz. But it's the biggest bass I've caught out of Lake Sammamish so far. Keep working this stretch of docks with no more bites.
I move to a shallow flat cove and fish the outside opening. There was a floating dock in the middle of the opening, right along the weedline.
Bam! Fish on. But just another perch.
Notice lots of perch around when I was reeling in. So I busted out my trout rod and caught a few more perch. Any fish>no fish.
Kept fishing a bite with no more fish. So I packed up to head home. While packing up one of my rods, the tip snapped! My newest Dobyn rod. Don't know wtf happened. It just broke.
*sigh*
