Well, had the day off and was looking forward to catching some largies. Fished the west side up to the rickety dock and back from 8:00 to 1:30 with no hookups. A few nibbles on spinnerbaits and soft plastics. I wasn't really prepared for the tea stained color of the water so that was a challenge. I used a lot of gear but nothing produced so that was kind of a bummer. Any tips on what to use there, it looks so bassy.

Go slow and small with the plastics.
Neutral colors like black, green pumpkin & watermelon are best.
Less weight is *always* better on this lake.
Fish where the wind is blowing. If there's zero wind, you're better off chasing trout or panfish.

Forgot to mention: Make multiple casts to spots that look "fishy". When your lure hits the water, it should make enough noise to attract, but not enough to frighten. (fine line)
This is where having less weight pays off. I've thrown weightless grubs onto lily pads and seen little bass try to bump them off into the water!

Thanks HbG. It was very calm all day. Wind picked up a little bit at one point and that's when I was getting small strikes on the spinner. I used those colors in plastics but didn't try weightless.

I use top water rapalas there in perch color and have some good luck but nothing huge 16" largest I have gotten and white spinner bait 1/8 oz and green mepps spinner size 3 had netted me a few bass there too. Perch color on rapala will get you some crappie as well and have landed trout on it too.
