Started out at 0'dark:30. Got there early enough to secure a parking spot, but just barely! Motored over to the Silver Creek area and bobbed around waiting for daylight. As we sat there the fish finder was going nuts! Fish from 30'-50'. It's looking promising! Unfortunately, that was the last time we marked fish until almost noon.

The early morning bite was non-existent. We did pick up a rainbow when we pulled the 'riggers up because the bottom came up quick, but that was around 8:30. Our first hit was at 9:00 which ended up being a short lived battle with a long distance release. The first fish to the boat showed up at 9:45, finally! We picked that one up at 40' near the Shannon Creek area.

An hour and a half later, near Silver Creek, in 25' of water, we hook again up only to lose it 8' from the boat. GRRRR! My girlfriend did a great job fighting it, not putting too much pressure on it, but those darn soft mouthed sockeye...

Our final fish came from the Noisy Creek area after noon. This one hit at 25' which surprised me because once the clouds burned off it was absolutely beautiful on the lake.

Word around the lake was that fishing was tough. We only saw 4 fish caught. Most boats we talked to had one, or no fish. I was just happy we got a couple. Maybe one day we'll actually limit out the boat.

Gear gettin' it done was '0' dodgers in Chartreuse/flash, Fire orange/flash, and 50/50. These were followed by a variety of double 3/0 hooks in red and black, smile blades, the top hooks were tipped with cured pink coon stripe shrimp.
