Decided I have been doing alot of trout fishing lately, so I wanted to try something else. This was my 1st time fishing Cassidy and I was hoping to catch a crappie. Fished with a bobber and jigs for a while with no luck. Removed the jig and tried a work and started getting hits. Got 1 perch about 8 inches. Let him go and lost several worms before I finally set hook into my 2nd fish of the day. This one put up more of a fight, making a couple of runs before I got it to the boat, where I slid the net under the biggest trout I have caught in a long time. Measured 17 inches long. Funny how that works. :)

Try a tiny red head with tail tube jig tipped with maggots usually works for me for crappies.

Unless there's a weather front moving in, crappie and bass are active around the same times: early and late.
Trout and perch will bite all day.
If there's a weather front moving in, fishing should be excellent. If the wind makes your boat hard to control, that's when the fishing is best on Lake Cassidy.
