Got to the lake about 5:30AM. Tide/lunar charts showed 'bite' well into the excellent range from about 5:30-8:30AM. I fished off the North dock & I got one bite on a floating PowerBait nightcrawler but he spit it right away and we never got hooked up. Guy was fishing next to me caught one 11-12" Rainbow which spit the hook right at the dock and another bite that was missed almost immediately on the re-cast, both on lemon-lime Gulp eggs. This all occurred by 7:30-8:00am. Then it seemed the bite just shut off.
I switched to chartreuse sparkle PowerEggs and about 9:15 landed a nice 12" fish. I borrowed the lime lime Gulp eggs from the other guy as I was out, and hooked up with another 12" fish within 15 mins. After this neither of us got a bite until he left at about 11 ans I left at noon. South dock had 2 fish caught during this time, one by one of the regulars, and another by a little boy about 9. Didn't look like the trollers were having any luck either.
