I got skunked at Greenlake, so after a couple of hours I decided to move onto Lake Union and see if I'd have any better luck there. On my second cast at the ship canal I hooked into a little smallmouth. That was a good sign. I caught five total, and for a while there it was a fish every ten minutes or so. Lost a couple more, and saw a few follow my lure. I made my way along the Fremont side, and I had good luck casting into the shadows under the trees, and the shade along the retaining wall. Bright colors like chartreuse and orange worked well. I caught them on a spinner, a crankbait, and a jointed Rapala. None of the fish were anything to write home about, the biggest one was 13". But I still had a great time, and for a bit it seemed like I was catching fish after fish.
