Fished from 0515-1100, 1st fish on was a "trip," lost it at the dock, inexperienced netter. When I yelled for the net, he grabs it and throws it at my feet, tried to get the other people at the dock to help me net it, too slow,..came off after about 10 seconds in front of the dock, crap!! Bite was slow, but still came out with my limit. Tired and hungry,..4 stars due to losing a trip, and getting soaked,..

Quad, did not think 4 other people would beat me there, actually when I was parking 2 of them were just walking down. KB, I was alittle annoyed to say the least!! I tried to give my net to the person on my left after picking it up, by the time he (finally) got in position, the fish shook itself off, "I WAS NOT HAPPY!!" But what can you do? I already know the feeling of trying to bring a "trip" by myself, no net, not good.
Oh well,... that why "there will be other days,...."

Same thing happened to the regular named James last week.

I guess realistically, I was being selfish. Just had to vent, happns to all of us. Just like when a fish shakes off a hook, mine was just closer. That's how we learn,..

Sorry to hear that. I am not too deft myself with net and heck I tend to forget to bring mine. I might have also been like a deer in the headlights if I were there. I hope I dont forget the net on the 16th for the seniors, lol. One of the ladies had a feisty trout on and I brought it but left it in the van. We were fortunate that the guy next to us had one.

I always bring mine just because of what happened the first time I lost 1 at the dock. I consider it a community net for those who want to use it. Some people would like to use it all the time, no problem, it's there if they need it,...

I guess I am the odd one out... I never use a net. You get pretty good at flipping them up into the boat (or onto the dock) after catching a few hundred fish that way. I lose quite a few fish at the boat, but it's usually about 5' from the boat when they surface... not next to the boat trying to flip them in. I use a little 5 and a half foot ultralight with 6 pound flouro too, so it's not like I am horsing them in.
