Horrible! On the water before 5:30 and couldn't find them to save my life. Lots of surface action but they looked to be small and were uninterested in our lures. Started with lead line, dodger and triple teaser at various depths. My friend ran monofilament line with a gang closer to the surface. We switched lures often to include wedding rings, hotshots, flatfish, dick nites and triple teasers. We didn't get any trout but I was able to reel in two small perch and two odd bottom feeders. I was told they are called "chub" but have no clue if thats right. All four were caught using a red Bolo gang and a red wedding ring with a small bit of worm. At one point we stopped trolling in the middle of a hot spot (for surface jumping that is) and just threw out a worm and bobber with zero success. We saw a few other boats out there and they didnt seem to be doing any better than us. Very frustrating.
