Heres the breakdown
Sarturday-Arrived late afternoon and made a few casts prior to dropping the boat in and caught a little smallie. Got the boat in the water and made some casts enroute to camp to moor the boat and caught two small northerns on a white spinnerbait. In the process of setting up camp,we had a visitor,a moose.
Sunday-Got on the water around 7AM but nothing going on and the winds picked up and the lake was covered in white caps. Off to explore other areas.
Monday-little wind but heavy showers at times. Got a few more northerns on a variety of baits from spoons to bucktails and the smallmouth were biting very well but nothing big.
This trip was more geared towards the numbers game to keep my son and nephew interested. The highlight would have to be the moose. The moose came back one of the evenings but a little more spooky when you can't see it as well and its roaming around the campsite. Big thanks to AJ's Dad,my buddy Dan P and Jeff at Fins and Feathers for the information,it saved us plenty of searching time and allowed the kids to concentrate on fishing. Also for allowing us to cruise the tackleshop after hours.
