Went to give Cassidy another shot today. This was my second time fishing this lake with no fish! This lake looks like a bass haven with the pads stumps and logs everywhere and thats why I came back to give it another shot. Went out in my boat and threw spinnerbaits along the pads, grass and stumps for about 3 hours. Not a bite in sight. I tried to use bright color bait like whites, yellows etc because the water is so rusty color. I think a fish has to be 10in away from your bait to see it. I was the only one on the lake untill i left there was some folks bassin it up. I don't think I will be back to this nice lake. Its all scenery in my mind. I have caught bass in many other lakes around the area and this one I have the worst luck on even though I have only fished it twice. I close the door on cassidy for good. thanks

Bass in darkly stained water hunt more by sound and smell and rely less on sight than their clear water cousins. Try adding some scent to your lures or use lures with rattles. That may help. Good luck!

Watermellon gary yamamoto senkos work good. Also got them on small tubes in red and white fishing for crappys. I use slow movements too. This lake is a tough one to fish.

Spinnerbaits don't work on Cassidy. Never caught anything on crankbaits either.
Ditch all of your search lures. Small and slow is what works.
On the bright side, since the water is so stained, you can get very close to cover without being seen. Just don't make a lot of noise...

I may go out this weekend and have an open seat for anyone who weighs less than 200 lbs. (due to boat capacity limitation)
I've only got a 40lb trolling motor so I don't fish fast.

I would try it again when weather warms up been having a lousy June with over 2" of rain this month...I have caught a few on spinner baits in white/black single spinner in 1/8 oz and have had better luck on top water rapalas in perch and bass color. If you throw perch you tend to also catch crappie there too. I get a lot of them swimming it back after a few twitches on top. It will improve as weather gets warmer. I have caught bass in early Nov there.
