Went to Harts Lake. Still in good shape, algae wise, but the bass fishing was not good. Fished the pads almost all the way around the lake. Fished top water, spinnerbaits, and plastics. Had one bite on a black w/ blue fleck Stick-0, but it did give me a 3.0 largemouth, which is pictured. But that was it.

From the launch...head to the right. There's one last house going from right to left before it just turns to pads and nothing until Wilcox farm. There's a ledge that goes from 5-7' of water down to 15'. If the fish aren't up by the dock or pads to the left (Looking at the house), then turn around and throw a deep diving crank bait. Another good place is to the left of Wilcox farm as you're looking at it from the launch. There's a couple of isolated pad islands. Those are humps that rise up out of about 8' of water. Anything from topwater to cranks work there depending on time of year. The spawning flat is to your right as you're making your way to the first spot I described. There's a smaller drop off all along there that can hold fish as well.

Wow, great imformation. Because I live in Federal Way I don't travel to Harts often. Infact this was my first trip there in probably 5 years. But I will remember your good advise. Thanks.

I was raised in the Kapowsin area and went to Harts Lake, not to mention all the other lakes in the area alot. Back in the early 70's, I joined what was then called the Harts Lake Bass Club. And we had our meetings at the resort there. The first year I was president we made the decision we needed a name that more represented our state. Hense, we became the Evergreen Bass Club. I think that name is alittle more recognizable. Anyway, back then the canal was fairly passible, and in our smaller boats we fished it many times. Not now. It is so overgrown, I couldn't even see where the canal is.
