Nice day, figured I'd try out some new tackle to see if any of it is worth taking to Curlew Lake later this month.

Arrived at 8:30, was on the water in the pontoon by 9:15 (That is more work than I thought, putting it together and hauling it to the pond), within 5 minutes I sent my anchor to the bottom without it's rope. I started drop shotting with plastic worms, Roboworms & Gamblers- and I didn't seem to be able to hook anything, a lot of my bites were small panfish, much to my irritation.

I switched to a creature bait called a Tiki-Monkey (3") from Wave worms, and caught a 19" Bucketmouth within a few casts. Then nothing but small fingerlings trying to pull the arms and legs off my poor Tiki-Monkey for about an hour. Tired of fighting the wind, I decided to pack up the pontoon and fish from shore. I seemed to have the best luck on the northeast corner of the lake, catching 2 more largemouth, 15-18", both on 4" Tiki-Monkies.

I was a bit surprised at the Tiki-Monkeys catching fish, they were an impulse buy that I picked up for $0.99/$1.49 on clearance.

Headed home at noon, it was fun to work on my drop shot, something I don't use much.
Also, I saw a lot of frogs today, might come back and try some topwater frogs.
