Got to the lake around 5am. Started just out from the launch and headed north. Fishing with my Moms boyfriend who hasnt been in a very long time and had never fished for kokanee. From reading previous reports we stared at 35-40 ft in 60/70ft of water. We ran pink, purple, red and chartreuse home tied fly type setups with different colored dodger/flashers. We watch some guys pass us in a livingston and they pulled a net and got a fish. Shortly after it was fish on. The color seemed to be pink for me and mikes kokanee juice on corn White shoe peg corn with a dick nite green and pink and silver wonderbread dodger/flashers. We lost 5 to 8 and ended up with 8 total at the end of the day. We tried a pass through the north small lake side with no luck. Also tried different stick baits for cuts with no luck. These guys were very feisty and shot out of the water on several accounts making it hard to keep them on. What a site to see than just splashing around. Learning my new FF and chased some meter marks and go hook ups doing it. I had great company and okay weather. We ended the day about noon and went down 45-55ft on riggers in 60-70ft of water. Tight lines
