Today was another very productive day on Lake Chelan! We were only fishing a half day so we hit the piles of fish that have been stacking up on Minneapolis Beach to put a few in the cooler. Fishing has been HOT on the Beach, but we havent been seeing or catching any big fish the last few trips. The guys were happy with the quanity and decided it was time to go after some quality. We made a quick pass through Mack Bar where we marked several good fish and managed to haul in one good one about 6 lbs. After finishing that run we headed up to the Yacht Club. We boated several more fish in the deep water including our biggest fish of the day that weighed in at just under 8 lbs. The Hi-Fly Smile Blade combo was the ticket again today! We ended our trip with 17 fish! Big thanks to Derek and Rick Allen for fishing with me today! It was a great time!
After the guys headed home with their pile of fillets I decided to go check out the Kokanee fishing for a few hours. I got into a pretty good bite right off the bat, but they were really light striking.. I only popped the downrigger on probably 5 or 6 fish, but had close to 20 hits! I can't get over the girth of some of these Kokes this year! Catching those fish in deep water on light tackle is just a blast! Most productive set-up here was a bright pink Cha Cha Squidder pulled behind Mack's Lures Double D dodger baited with white corn.
