Long's Pond is a small lake in the Lacey city limits. It is open to juveniles only (15 and under). The lake is just off of Pacific Ave, behind the new Lacey Community Center. The weather was a bit windy, but in about a half hour of fishing, my 5 year old son had two bites and caught one fish, a 10 inch rainbow. Two weeks before he had caught a 19 inch rainbow brooder buck. Hunter used a yellow power bait/orange power egg combo to catch both fish. The lake is usually well stocked, providing kids with a very good chance at getting a fish or two in a short time period. This helps to hook the youngsters at a young age, without having them suffer through a long cold day at the lake. Keep your trips with the young kids short at first, and you'll having a fishing partner for life! Good luck.
