We decided to go hit the Loon lake LMB this afternoon and evening, took our middle grandson (aka the little bruiser) with us because it was his turn to go fishing with grandma & grandpa. He wanted to go hit the lilly pads to the left of the launch so over there we went, ended up with 6 in the boat nothing over 3 1/2 lbs, but he was unable to catch anything, he had a serious malfunction with his batman pole, I almost threw the darn thing in the water! He then wanted to go hit the open water so over to the reeds on the northeast flats we went and didn't boat a single fish. So over to the docks next, that's when grandpa gave his grandson a lesson on how to cast an open face reel. The little guy did great after that but still was unable to catch a fish. I think he enjoyed grandma's food more than fishing! Another great time fishing with one of our grandsons!

Why do so many of the bass fishing reports seem to have very little info on what and how everyone catches fish, but all the trout reports are over loaded with info. Am I missing something?

Yes. There are MUCH more trout than Bass. The WDFW WANTS you to keep the trout, so they can restock the lakes. Bass have to reproduce all on their own. So lots of Bass fishermen are protective of the fishery, so much so they don't want to give out any secrets, even tho most of the world knows those secrets anyway, just what's working today, but not yesterday, and won't tomorrow.

Then what is the point of a report. To show you can catch fish..shouldn't we as outdoorsman share with each other to help each other enjoy the sport more...I take so many younger guys fishing with me that didn't get to do it growing up, but trying to learn the sport of bass fishing and teach someone at the same time is really frustrating. I come on this website as a way to educate myself, but I find, specifically with the bass reports. Just a bunch of reports where guys tell us how many fish they caught. Shouldn't the point of the report be to hopefully help another fisherman specifically those without tons of experience gain some insight and help increase there success as to help retain that fisherman for a lifetime and increase the number of people enjoying the outdoors. Just a thought.

All these pics show that there are quality fish in these waters. If you want to catch them then read bass magazines, do research on the species you're going after. Bass fishing takes a lot of determination, patience, hard work, and a lot of time not catching anything. If you want to take shortcuts and just follow what somebody else did, become a trout fisherman....or go out fishing with a guide. There's a lot to it, even if someone told you exactly what they did on a certain day, chances are that exact same bait, technique and presentation won't get it done the very next day. Earn your stripes, put in your time, and eventually it all pays off for ya. Good luck.
