Headed over to Long lake primarly just to check out the water level, water temp's, and whether or not any of the Lilly pads were up yet. Arrived at the Fort Spokane launch @ 3pm and guess what, we were the only one's with a boat there! With the water level up to the bottom of the dock and flowing pretty fast we decided to go ahead and put in, kinda like putting in up at Newport. Found fish stacked up on the drop offs but the water was moving too fast so we headed up to some of our usual spots and found no lilly pads. Fished where we would normally find them and the wife pulled in this nice Smallie that went close to 4lbs on a shaky head worm. We then went up to the cove by the Charles road campground and I picked up this little smallie under a dock on a lizard. I caught one more under a dock that was a LMB under 2lbs, and that was it, only 3 fish in the boat! Was surprised that they're were only a couple boats out on the Lake! I didn't have enough gas to go up to Suncrest so we just fished mainly south of there. A good scouting trip, will be back mid June.
