Went to Cassidy for the first time today. I have never been here and heard there was some decent bass fishing on this little lake. Threw top water, cranks, senkos and jigs. No luck. Fished for a good 3 hours along the pads, docks and stumps. I think its early for the bass around here to be really active, but with this warm front we have had the last couple days I thought I would give it a shot. Saw a couple other people on the lake and got to talk to one gentleman who just caught 1 trout. He said this lake has always been slow for bass and hes fished it for 40 years. He also said he gets better bass fishing in the little ponds around the area than the lakes. I agreed with him as I fish a little pond by my house and always catch a couple bass. I might try this lake out again in July or August but I tend to keep my bass fishing on the east side of the Mts where I know theres great bass fishing with the hot weather they have in the spring and summer. Great little lake though with lots of bald eagles flying around.

Yeah it's usually a little slow in April/May for bass but should pick up soon. I do a lot of top water there June-October and have some good luck and there are some big crappie too. Best I have seen is from guys who bottom fish. They get the larger fish out of Cassidy. I was there in early April but notice water level was way up and tried for trout and got nothing. I am going out tomorrow but probably try smaller lake as it will warm up quicker.
