The Kokes are not really biting right now but I had to try. All I fish for is Kokanee. I was using my home made mini shrimp set up and caught a beautiful 15" that weighed 1lb 5oz, not bad for first Koke of the year many more to come. Marking fish at 23' so set the downrigger to 20ft and was fishing in 60ft of water and got it on the way back to the dock.

nice koke! by the dock, do you mean you launched at the seaplane launch or the wdfw launch? I am going Wedensday but was going to leave the downriggers at home and just run 1/2 to 1 1/2z weights but maybe now I should go with the downriggers.

I manage Bills Boathouse so I keep my boat in the water all the time at the boathouse moorage. I had another one on tonight but as my buddy was getting ready to net it he got off. If your around the boathouse ever stop in and swap stories anytime (that goes for everybody). Bring the downrigers salmonbarry the one I had on tonight was at 15ft. I have tried the surface with no luck.

Nice chatting with you this afternoon Mike. I thought I had better troll in front of your place with the boys before heading off the lake. We started on the north side of the island for a few back and forths (marking alot of fish) and then headed for the south end. Saw lots of fish on the finder, even a few jump. Had one take a triple teaser off the downrigger clip, and another hit on a wedding ring up higher, but that was it. The boys really love going out, which is awesome. I'll stop in next time I'm out, I'll probably wait until the reports are better though. I live more towards the eastern side of pierce county, about time to start hitting the local lakes. Good times! - Bo

I will try and be better about posting this year when the fishing gets good. I usually get so caught up in fishing I forget to post. Keep looking for my post Bo and you will know when its good, I try and fish about 5 days a week. Good luck on the local lakes too.

Nice fish buddy! The weather the last few days has been great. Hopefully the weather cooperates and brings the water temp up. Our smokers are hungry for some fat American Lake Kokanee. Looking forward to this season down at Bills Boat House!
