Since we had Friday off, Cindy and I made a trip over to Seaton's grove to try for a Walleye. We got on the water around 10:30-11:00. The current was running pretty high, so we fished the eddies and behind points as we worked our way down stream. Saw a few boatsa fishing walleye, but most of the boaters were trout fishing. Talked with a few fishermen, and they mentiponed the bite was still slow for walleye and the trout bite was better than average. Saw one boat that had been there for two days and they had limited on trout both days belo and behind the first set of pens. We used jigs with curly tail grubs, plastic minnow immitations and the usual wally rigs, Tipped with worm. We fished till dark, and Cindy ended up catching 4 Walleye, and only kept 3 as she caught 2 that were over the lenght limit. The ones she kept were around 19 1/2 inches with the biggest close to 5 pounds. She also caught a Burbot, but it was just a wee lil thing. Too bad it wasn't bigger. Several trout which she kept one which was hooked badly. I never got a walleye to the boat, and only had one on. I caught several trout and My first ever Small Mouth Bass out of Rufus. The bass was about 15-16 inches. Even though I got "Schooled" on the walleye by Cindy, it was a good day on the water. We had high gusty winds, and rain showers throughout the evening. The water temps were 39*-40*, so not warming up very fast yet. Tight lines, sharp hooks, and hungry fish.

That they are Fish-or-Man, but they are a great tasting fish if you can get them big enough to fillet. LOL

I'd love to catch some of those burbot, I hear that they are great eating. It's funny that the uglier the fish , the better they taste. Examples, cabazon, ling cod, irish lords, etc.Good job putting Cindy on the walleyes, I'm hoping to put Melanie on a 4lb plus trout today to beat the one I caught yesterday! Nice report. Bob R
