Weathermen were calling for wind yesterday. When there was sun and not a breath of wind at 11:00 decided to hook up and head for Tapps. The lake never had more than a ripple on it. Great weather. Wish I could say the same for the fishing. Found lots of fish stacked up in 30 to 35 ft on drops. Fished through them with football heads, Carolina rig, dropshot, and swimbaits, in several colors without a bump. Did talk to two other bassers who caught three. Said they started deep too with no success. Then just pounded the shoreline where they caught theirs. Water is still cold. 46 when I left. Just need some warmer water.

Thanks for the great come-back. Years ago I used to travel to St. Maries to visit relatives. While there I fished many of the chain of lakes. But my favorite location was Benewah. Lordy that lake held some monster bass!!!!
