I had the Pleasure again of hosting the "The Famous Blufin Loui" yesterday out on Lake Chelan!!! We were on a Mission looking for Walter in the Deepwater above the Yacht Club!
Well sometimes a plan just doesn't happen but we did manage to snake a 7lb laketrout from 285ft deep and a few more smaller laketrout in the deep water..So we motored back down lake to the Trench, made 1 pass and boated 8 More Lakers. Good Day Fishing but Walter still lives for Now!
A few fishing trips back, I was cleaning our catch at Campbells dock and Managed to Drop my "New" Hammer Stahl Fillet Knife in the lake. I called Mr. Blufin and filled him in on my Dilemma and he took it upon himself to try and recover my Baby! The knife was in 16ft of water so it was too tough with the visibility for him to retrieve the knife. So the next day I called Loui up and told him my plan was to motor the boat to the dock after my Fishing Trip and try to recover the knife. Loui agreed to ride with me for moral support:) After positioning my boat on the notch that I made on the dock, I looked over the edge and if you can believe it, there she laid right where dropped it. So with Pole in hand with a magnet attached to the end I dropped it to the bottom. Slowly and I mean slowly, Hand over hand, I managed to bring Her to the Surface with Blufin eagerly waiting for Her arrival with both hands ready to retrieve. Success!!!
I do think that the excitement level on the boat at that time, was Higher than if we had boated a 20lb. Laketrout!!!!!Thanks so much to Blufin loui for the help on recovering such a Prized posession of mine. Tight Lines to All and Be Safe!!!
