I had unexpected day off from work on the 26th, so I called up another forum member here,"Centershock", i.e. Thomas, and headed to lake Samammish to troll for cutthroat.
We launched about 0915. The lake is high. the older launch docks were underwater. The new floating ones of course are fine.
Overcast skies, no rain. No other boats out. We trolled red wedding rings with gold blade, behind a 5" chrome dodger. No hits on this setup. Most people seem to find success with the red wedding rings on Sam. but it has never been very successful in outings. We got a 14" cutt. using a pinkish/redish mini hootchie behind a Sepps dodger. Picked up a fat 15" Koke on a Silver Horde Green splatter back mini hootchie with the same Sepps dodger.
Kokanee released.
There were a few fish showing themselves on the surface, but not nearly as many as seen a month ago. Pretty slow day out there.
*** Can anyone confirm that it appears like the weather buoy has moved South in the lake? I feel like last winter it was located sort of middle of lake, and straight out from what I call the bend in the lake.*** just curious.
